HAVE A SWELL DAY

Working in retail has given me very mixed feelings about children. One day at work I swear every child in the store started screaming in their own separate temper-tantrums. At this point I had been at work for 6 hours and I couldn’t deal anymore. I came up with the image of punching a baby in the face. (the baby was loosely based off of kewpie because the doll has such a classic imagery that I adore) But then I remembered my customer service skills and love of puns so I added “Have a swell day” to the image and switched a few things around so that the baby had a swollen eye. Now I don’t believe in harming children and I would never punch a baby, but sometimes you just reach your wits end. I decided to print this image onto brick wall textured wallpaper. I also collaged pictures of boxers from the Philadelphia area and lady wrestlers to give the piece the look I was going for.
